Our staffs of experienced care professionals have the skills to provide quality care with respect, dignity, and compassion. Physicians are on call 24 hours, and rehabilitation services are available on the premises. Dental services, laboratory, and other diagnostic testing can be performed as needed.

Facilities for the comfort, well-being, and physical appearance of residents include whirlpool baths, an exercise room, and a beauty parlor operated by a professional beautician. Home-cooked meals planned by a dietician cater to special needs.

A variety of activities keep residents stimulated and happy, including arts and crafts, music and dancing, movies and plays, bingo and games, flower shows, as well as barbeques and outings. Also featured are birthday parties and cooking classes.

A chaplain is on staff, and daily mass is offered in both chapels, where residents can also spend time in private prayer.

We hold in our hearts in a special way all of the wonderful people who have been part of the family of St. Joseph’s and who have so graciously reflected God’s love by sharing their love and their lives with us and with each other.

Sister Stanislaus of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, director of nurses at St. Joseph's Catholic Nursing Home in Woodbridge, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at the Convent by St.

Joseph's Senior Home.

She is survived by her religious community and her sister, Maria Walczyk in Poland.

Born Grazyna Teresa Krewan in 1934 in Lithuania, she was raised in Poland.

She entered the Congregation of the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in 1955 in Poland. As Sister Stanislaus, she professed her first vows in 1958 and her perpetual vows in 1963.


In
1960, upon graduation from nursing school, Sister Stanislaus worked in the hospital in Tomaszow, Lubelski. For the next two years she worked in the Pastoral office of the Chancery in Lublin. Sister Stanislaus set out to Zambia, Africa, in 1966. For the next nine years Sister Stanislaus served at Sacred Heart Mission Hospital in Katondwe in difficult tropical conditions with deep faith and total commitment. In 1975, Sister Stanislaus arrived at St. Joseph's Convent in Woodbridge, where for the next four years she worked at the Mt. Carmel Visiting Home Nursing Services. She qualified as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.


From 1979 for the next 13 years, Sister Stanislaus worked as a dedicated nurse in St. Mary's Catholic Home in Cherry Hill, where she became the assistant director of nurses. During this period, she graduated with a B.S. degree in nursing.

In 1992, Sister Stanislaus

was transferred as assistant director to St. Joseph's Catholic Nursing Home in Woodbridge. There she excelled in devotion to the Divine Mercy and compassionate preventive health care.

The Wake will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24, in the Chapel of St. Joseph's Assisted Living, 1 St. Joseph's Terrace, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 25, at the above-named Chapel. Interment will follow at St Joseph's Cemetery in Chews Landing, N.J. Memorials in memory of Sister Stanislaus Krewan, LSIC may be made to St. Joseph's Senior Home, 1-3 St. Joseph's Terrace, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Funeral arrangements are by Zylka Funeral Home, Perth Amboy.
